Grapevine F&I and 64 Bit Operating Systems |
What you need to know about Grapevine F&I and Microsoft Windows 64 bit Operating systems.
More computer outlets are selling computers with Microsoft Windows 64
bit operating systems.
It is important to be aware that Microsoft did not include DOS support
in 64 bit operating systems. As a result Grapevine F&I will not
work on a 64 bit operating system.
Fortunately Microsoft still makes all of their operating systems in the
32 bit 'flavor'.
If purchasing a computer with either Microsoft XP, Microsoft Vista, or
even the upcoming Microsoft Windows 7, if you intend to run Grapevine
F&I, be certain that your new computer comes with the 32 bit
version.

"eF&I" which, being entirely web based, works fine on a 64 bit
operating system.
